1932

The provincial government moves to Daejeon

The relocation from Gongju brought government offices, official residences, shops, and new movement to Seonhwa-dong.

Mid-20th c.

Administration supports an education and print district

Schools, newspapers, print shops, restaurants, and lodging served workers and visitors around the government quarter.

2012 onward

A government building becomes a history space

After the provincial government moved, the former building reopened as a modern-history exhibition space and a focus for old-center reuse.
